Appbrew provides multiple login options to enhance user accessibility and security. These include Email/Password, SMS OTP, and Social Login. Each option caters to different needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless login experience for all users.

Customers who already have an account on your Shopify website can log in to the same account using their web credentials. Customer data is synced with Shopify

Email/Password

Users can enter their email and password to log in to the app.

Features include:

  • Reset/Forgot Password: Users can choose this option to receive an email with instructions to reset their password.

  • Change Password: Users can update their password through their account settings.

SMS OTP

A one-time password (OTP) is sent to the user's device through SMS which they can use to log in to the app.

Since email is mandatory for customer accounts on Shopify, If a user has entered a phone number and it is not linked to any active account on Shopify, then they will be prompted to enter an email.

  • In case they have an existing account, they can enter the email and continue linking with the phone number once the entered email is verified. We send an OTP via email to verify (Email OTP is sent from Appbrew servers)

  • If they don’t have an existing account, they can enter a new email and we will create an account with entered phone number and email.

Requirements to enable

  • An account on SMS partner to deliver OTP. We integrate directly with the SMS provider to send OTP. Currently, we are integrated with MSG91 and Trustsignal

  • An approved message template with one OTP variable. For example: “Hi, Your app code is. {{OTP}}”, Here {{OTP}} is the message variable that will contain the one-time code for the user.

Social Login

Provides a one-tap login setup using third-party platforms.

Supported platforms:

  • Google

  • Apple

Requirements to enable

  • Multipass token from Shopify. It is a token generated by Shopify to enable third-party logins on the app without updating customer account credentials or data.

Available only for Shopify Plus and Appbrew Enterprise customers
