Meta Business Verification for Your Mobile App Integration
Last updated: July 20, 2026
A step-by-step guide to verifying your business on Meta so features like Instagram feeds, Meta events (CAPI) and social login work in your app.
Why you're receiving this
To connect your Meta assets (Facebook Page, Instagram account, ad account, pixel/dataset) to your mobile app, Meta requires your business to complete Business Verification — a free, one-time process that confirms your company is a legally registered entity. Until it's done, certain integrations will be blocked or limited.
Important: This is NOT the paid “Meta Verified” blue-checkmark subscription. Business Verification is free and is done from your Meta Business Manager's Security Center. Don't purchase anything.
Before you start — quick checklist
✓ You are an Admin on your company's Meta Business Manager (business.facebook.com).
✓ Your personal Facebook account has two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
✓ Your Business Manager has your correct legal entity name, address and phone number (Business Settings → Business Info).
✓ You have a scanned copy of your Certificate of Incorporation or GST certificate, and a recent bank statement or utility bill showing the same name and address.
✓ You have access to an email address on your company domain (e.g., you@yourbrand.com) or can add a DNS record to your website domain.
The 5-step process
Open the Security Center in Meta Business Manager
Go to business.facebook.com and log in as an Admin.
Navigate to Settings → Security Center (sometimes shown under Business Settings).
Find the Business Verification section and click Start Verification.
Button greyed out? Meta only enables it when it detects a need. The quickest fix: create a free developer app at developers.facebook.com (type: Business) and link it to your Business Manager. The button typically activates within 24 hours. Your Appbrew team can help with this step.
Confirm your business details
Enter your legal entity name exactly as it appears on your registration documents (e.g., “ABC Retail Private Limited”, not “ABC Retail” or “ABC Pvt Ltd” if the certificate says otherwise).
Enter the registered address, phone number and website — all should match your documents.
If details are wrong in Business Manager, correct them under Business Info before submitting.
Meta's review is largely automated and looks for exact matches. Mismatched abbreviations or an old address are the #1 cause of rejection.
Upload your documents
Proof of legal entity: Certificate of Incorporation, GST registration certificate, or Shops & Establishment license.
Proof of address / activity (if asked): recent bank statement or utility bill (within ~3 months) showing the same legal name and address.
Upload clear, uncropped PDFs or photos — all four corners visible, no glare.
If your bank statement shows an old address, update it with the bank first and wait for the next statement rather than submitting a mismatched document.
Confirm your connection to the business
Meta will ask you to verify via one of: email on your company domain (recommended), phone call/SMS to the business number, or a DNS TXT record on your website domain.
Use the domain email or DNS option where possible — it's the smoothest and also strengthens your domain verification for ads and Conversions API later.
Enter the code Meta sends you to complete the submission.
Wait for review, then notify Appbrew
Approval can be near-instant (automated) or take 48 hours to 14 business days for manual review.
Track status in Security Center. If rejected, Meta states the reason — usually a name/address mismatch. Fix and resubmit.
Once you see “Verified”, let your Appbrew Customer Success manager know so we can complete the app-side integration.
After you're verified: grant Appbrew partner access
In most cases you do not need to build or verify anything else. You simply grant Appbrew partner access to the relevant assets so the integration can be completed:
Go to Business Settings → Partners → Add → Give a partner access to your assets.
Enter the Appbrew Business Manager ID (shared by your CS manager).
Assign the assets needed for your integration — typically your Facebook Page, Instagram account, and pixel/dataset (for event tracking).
Use task-level permissions — you stay in full control and can revoke access anytime.
Common issues and quick fixes
Issue | Likely cause | Fix |
“Start Verification” greyed out | Meta hasn't detected a need for verification yet | Link a developer app to your Business Manager; retry after 24 hrs |
Rejected: business not found | Legal name in BM doesn't exactly match documents | Edit Business Info to match the certificate character-for-character, resubmit
|
Rejected: address mismatch | Bank statement / bill shows an old address | Update the address with your bank, use the next statement |
No verification code received | Business phone/email in BM is outdated | Update contact details in Business Info, or use the DNS TXT option |
Stuck “In review” for 2+ weeks | Manual review backlog | Contact Meta Business Support via the Help Center; keep the case ID |
FAQ
Does this cost anything?
No. Business Verification is free. Only the separate “Meta Verified” blue-badge subscription is paid, and you don't need it for the app integration.
Will this affect our ads or Page?
No — verification only adds trust signals. It typically improves account stability and unlocks higher limits and advanced features.
Who at our company should do this?
An Admin of your Meta Business Manager, ideally a founder or the person who manages your Meta ads, with access to company registration documents.
Do we need to verify again for each app or integration?
No. Verification applies to your whole Business Manager (portfolio) — one time covers all Pages, Instagram accounts and ad accounts under it.
What if our agency owns our ad account?
Verification must be completed on the Business Manager that owns your Page and Instagram assets. If an agency owns them, talk to your Appbrew CS manager — we'll help map the right setup
Done? Reply to your Appbrew Customer Success manager with a screenshot of the “Verified” status and we'll take it from there — the rest of the integration is on us.
