To filter users only for the app, you can check if the App version is set for that event. If yes, then the event was triggered from the app

App also pass event properties along with each tracked event to capture additional context. This allows for deeper personalization and more powerful segmentation.

For example, with the viewed product event, we include product details such as name, ID, category, image and price. This enables merchants to:

  • Segment users who viewed a specific product or category

  • Personalize push notifications with relevant product information

  • Trigger automated flows based on product interest

These properties enhance Klaviyo’s ability to deliver targeted, timely, and meaningful messages across channels.

Other such examples:

  • For cart-related actions, we include information such as product names, quantities, prices, discounts, and the total cart value.

  • When users interact with collections or lists, we record which collection they viewed.

  • For wishlist activity, we track which products were added, including pricing and discount data.
