Value First is an SMS provider that sends one-time-password (OTP) codes to your customers for secure login or sign-up in your app. When a customer enters their phone number, Value First delivers a unique code to verify their identity — a fast, password-free way to access their account.

It's one of several OTP providers Appbrew supports (alongside MSG91 and TrustSignal), so you can pick the one that fits your region best. Key benefits:

2. Which plans is it available on?

Value First OTP Sign-In is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.

3. What's needed to enable it?

This integration is enabled by the Appbrew team, not self-serve. Your part is to set up your Value First account and share the prerequisites below with us; once we have them, we configure Value First as your OTP provider and switch the integration on in your app.

Please gather and share the following with Appbrew:

  1. API Secret — your Value First account key, used to send messages.

  2. Sender ID — the name or number customers will see as the sender.

  3. Message Template — the SMS text you want to send, with the placeholder {otp} where the code should appear.

  4. (Optional) Multipass Secret — only if you also use Shopify Multipass.

  5. (Optional) Whether to allow customers to use the phone number from their shipping address for sign-in.

Tip: You can find your API Secret and Sender ID inside your Value First account. If you need help collecting these details, the Appbrew team can guide you.

Once you've shared these details, the Appbrew team enables Value First in your app — there's no dashboard configuration for you to do.

What details do I need to get started?

Your Value First API Secret, Sender ID, and the message template you'd like to send (with {otp} where the code should appear). Share these with the Appbrew team and we'll handle the rest.

Can I customise the message customers receive?

Yes. You set the message template you'd like, and just make sure it includes {otp} where the code should appear.

Does this work for numbers outside of India?

Value First primarily supports Indian numbers. If you need international coverage, a provider like TrustSignal is a better fit — let us know and we can set that up instead.

My customers aren't receiving OTP messages — what should I check?

First confirm the customer entered the correct phone number. If messages still aren't arriving, let the Appbrew team know so we can check the API Secret and Sender ID and confirm your Value First account is sending correctly.

Can I switch to a different SMS provider later?

Yes. Value First is one of several supported OTP providers. If you'd like to switch (for example, to TrustSignal or MSG91), just let the Appbrew team know and we'll update the configuration.

Do I need to set this up myself in a dashboard?

No. This integration isn't self-serve — the Appbrew team enables it for you. Your part is to set up your Value First account and send us the prerequisites listed above.
