PDP Metafield Blocks
Last updated: August 6, 2025
Overview
Appbrew supports a variety of metafield types that allow you to display dynamic content on your product detail pages (PDP). This makes it easy to showcase product-specific information that's fully manageable from your Shopify store. Examples of supported content include banners, videos, products, and text.
Feature Overview
The Product Detail Metafield block allows Shopify merchants to enrich their Product Detail Pages (PDPs) by dynamically displaying product content from product metafields—without requiring any code.
This feature is ideal for showcasing additional visual information such as size charts, technical diagrams, trust badges, usage instructions, warranty cards, and promotional banners. Content is sourced from your Shopify store’s metafields and rendered through customizable blocks within your PDP layout.

Verify the metafield exists in Shopify with the correct namespace and key

Confirm that the metafield is mapped correctly to the desired block in the Appbrew dashboard
Some configurations may require a refresh or app version update to render changes
2. Can I upload a video URL in a variant metafield?
No. Variant metafields are not supported for video URLs
Instead, use a product-level metafield of type
Fileor embed a YouTube URL in a product-level metafield
3. Can I conditionally hide or show blocks based on metafield values?
Conditional logic (e.g., if-else rendering) is not currently supported
Content will be displayed as long as the metafield is populated
4. Can users copy text or discount codes from image-based offer blocks?
No. When offers are rendered as images, text cannot be copied
Embed all relevant information (including codes) directly into the image design
5. Is there a limit to the number of metafields I can use on a single PDP?

Use performance best practices when rendering large or numerous metafield assets
6. Can the app dynamically pull metafield data from the live website or storefront?
Yes, you can use existing metafields in use for your website.
